Posted Thursday, October 15, 2020 @ 10:14 AM The Veteran Academic Resource Center (VARC) has teamed up with UCF Career Services and national recognized non-profit Andrew Vernon Associates to offer a FREE 90 minute interactive presentation on career readiness to provide focused refresher training for student veterans. This FREE Workshop will take place on Friday, November 13, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Student Veterans will learn the necessary skills to successfully transition from being a college student to earning a job in a career commensurate with their degree and experience. Ideally, students will participate in this training at least one semester prior to graduation. Presentation covers the following areas: I. Principles of Getting a Job • Create a schedule • Paths to employment • Identifying transferable skills • Professional introduction • Networking & mentorships II. Career Research and Development • Available resources • Conduct fact-finding calls • Salary determination • American job centers • Credentialing • Personal branding • Social media III.
